Bus Rams into House after Killing Two
MALDA, 11 APRIL: Two persons were killed and 10 more injured when a bus lost its control and rammed into a house this morning. The incident took place at Bagua More of Bhado under Ratua Police Station. Angry villagers blocked the road for two hours.
It is learnt that a Malda bound private bus lost its control and hit two persons standing beside the road. Sayed Ali (24), a fruit seller and Mohammed Mofijuddin (38) died on spot overrun by the bus. But that too could not stop the bus when it drove straight to a house beside the road. The front portion of the house which is owned by a school teacher Mohammed Latifur Rahman, was smashed. Breaking down the outer wall and portion of the verandah, the bus finally came to a halt. Luckily there was no casualty among the inmates of the house. However, 10 passengers of the bus got wounded in this accident.
The injured were taken to local health centre first and then to Malda Medical College and Hospital. Meanwhile angry villagers blocked the road. They demanded the compensation for the victims of the accident, repairing of the roads and curb on the vehicles for rash driving. The blockade went on for two hours before police from Ratua police station came to control the situation. Police seized the killer bus but the driver and the helper of it had managed to escape. It may be recalled that a few days back similar accident took two lives when a running lorry rammed into hut beside the road at night and overrun two in asleep at Samsi.
