Block Trinamul Party OfficeCaptured By Opponent Faction in Gazole
MALDA, 20 MAY: Factional feud does not desert Malda Trinamul Congress even on the anniversary of the government. While both the factions busy celebrating the success of the government, one group allegedly snatched the party office of other in Gazole. All this marks the celebration of one year of ‘successes’ of Trinamul led government in the state.
Today a group of Trinamul workers led by Sisir Chakraborty, Rabin Nath and Gour Chakraborty in Gazole claimed that the block party office was under their grip henceforth. Block vice president Sisir Chakraborty, who is intimate to party’s state joint secretary Dulal Sarkar said, “Number of people from Congress and CPI-M have infiltrated in Trinamul to exploit the party.” Taking a dig at block president Jayanta Ghosh Mr Chakraborty said, “Some people in the name of the party are amassing wealth at the cost of defaming Mamata Banerjee’s reputation. We have to cleanse the party with those who had been in the party since the beginning.” The faction today organized a programme to commemorate the state government’s one year celebration.
However, ascribing no importance to Mr Chakraborty’s claims, district Trinamul vice president and redoubtable party leader of Gazole Manindra Pal said, “We’ve no party office in Gazole, so there is no question of occupying it by any person. They might have referred to a small room which is mainly used for playing carom.” Alleging that the Chakraborty faction has been trying to create confusion Mr Pal said, “Today Mr Ghosh, the block president organized a rally of around 10,000 party workers which was joined by 14 out of 15 area Trinamul presidents. This shows that no dissident activities would be tolerated by the party supporters.” Mr Pal also said that many leaders had urged them to take action against the dissidents today.
Yesterday, the similar feud was marked in the Malda town when two different rallies came out led by two factions one led by minister Sabitri Mitra’s followers and the other by English Bazaar Municipality’s vice chairman Dulal Sarkar’s faction. In Mr Sarkar’s programme district youth Trinamul’s acting president Ananta Chakraborty warned people about the leaders who had switched over their allegiance to Trinamul recently. However, the faction led by district president and minister Sabitri Mitra took out another rally which was led by district youth Trinamul president Amlan Bhaduri. The speakers of this rally too attacked Mr Sarkar and his followers in their speech.
