Dist TMCP Chairman Accused of Cheating and Threatening TMCP President of Malda College
MALDA, 25 MAY: District Trinamool Chhatra Parishad (TMCP) chairman Kshudiram Mistry has been accused of collecting more than a lakh from the TMCP unit president of Malda College Manoj Das and six others giving fake assurance of appointing them either in the University of Gour Banga or in Malda Medical College. When those students went to get their money back from Mishtry after they hadn’t get appointment letter long after the given period, the latter allegedly threatened them to kill at a gun point.
Das today lodged a written complaint with police against Mistry and two of his associates Chhoton Singh and Sanjay Saha. It was alleged by the relatives of Das that a gang of miscreants attacked his house at Arapur area under English Bazaar police station this afternoon after the complaint was lodged against the TMCP district chairman. Das was not available then. However, the neighbours rushed to the spot and while the others managed to flee they caught raid handed Asif Sheikh and Abdul Rahim.
Das, who was appointed the TMCP president of Malda College, alleged that Mistry took Rs 1.45 lakh from him and his six friends giving assurance that they would be appointed either in varsity or in medical college. But as they didn’t get appointment letter, they demanded the money back from Mistry. It has been alleged that Mistry and his associates roughed up Das and his friends on 22 May and threatened them at the gun point to keep the mouth shut.
Mistry, on the contrary, rubbishing allegations claimed, “Manoj had ditched a girl. He was asked to find a solution. Now, he is lodging fake complaint being instigated by opponent faction of TMCP.”
SP, Malda Jayanta Pal only said, “The complaint would be looked into.”
TMCP state president Shankudeb Panda said that no allegation was submitted to him. Minister Sabitri Mitra would look into the matter as the party’s district president. Mitra said, “Stern action would be taken against Mishtry if the allegation against him is proved.”
Questions have already been raised in the TMCP whether the post of district chairman, which Mishtry holds allegedly for his proximity with Sabitri Mitra faction in district party, at all exists as per organisation's constitution.
