DM Felicitates Madrassah Board Exam Topper Duo, Inaugurates Career Counseling in Kaliachak
MALDA, 23 MAY: District administrations along with block administrations of Kaliachak I and Old Malda today felicitated the Mohammed Ahmadullah Sheikh and Monika Begum, the joint toppers in the state of High Madrassah examinations. District magistrate Dr Archana also inauguarated a career counseling and guidance centre for the underprivileged students in Kaliachak I block.
Dr Archana today congratulated the topper duo on behalf of the chief minister Mamata Banerjee and handed over books for higher studies and other gifts. Later, in her speech the DM said, “I felicitated the duo as the emissary of the state government and they would be aided in all respect in carrying on their higher studies.” She also said that she would try to gift them laptop computers to Ahmadullah and Monika so that they can equip themselves better for higher studies.
A project ‘Mamatamoyee’ was also inaugurated in Kaliachak I today. Archana said, “We were urged by the people of Kaliachak to provide assistance to their wards in respect or career counseling and guidance. Eminent experts of different subjects would take up classes and help them in performing better for board as well as different public examinations.” She added that the project is particularly important as Kaliachak has so far been known as one of the violence prone blocks. “The project would help the students to dissociate from the general violent trends of the locality,” she said.
Block development officer of Kaliachak I Tamojit Chakraborty informed that a professional psychologist would also hold sessions with the students. “The counseling session would be held in all gram panchayets of the block circularly. Administrators, social workers, teachers and journalists would be invited to guide the students of schools and madrassahs. There would be eight camps every month,” Chakraborty informed.
