Squabbling in TMC Primary Teachers' Convention
Malda, 3 June: Minister Sabitri Mitra, who asked Trinamul Congress teachers to be united to take on the CPI-M and the Congress, had enough reasons to be embarrassed as squabbling in Trinamul Congress Siksha Cell (TMCSC) members was bared today in her presence.
While a section of TMCSC teachers got on the stage to protest against selection of convener in 31 primay school circles in district, Mitra’s follower and Trinamul Chhatra Parishad (TMCP) leader Ujjwal Sheikh was accused to assaulting those members.
TMCSC district president later alleged that Ratan Sarkar and Kamalesh Basak, TMCSC presidents of Bamangola east and Chanchal circles respectively were deliberately eliminated from the newly constituted circle committees as the opponent faction conspired against them. “I had to shout as former leader of CPI-M’s All Bengal Primary Teachers’ Association (ABPTA) Biplab Gupta, now a high school teacher who recently joined TMCSC, was illegally interfering in formation of committees of primary teachers,” Mandal said.
“It’s a matter of great regret that Mitra’s follower Ujjwal Sheikh held the collars of the primary teachers of our organization,” he added. This may be mentioned that odd 250 primary teachers from 31 circles attended today’s TMCSC primary teachers’ convention. A TMCSC committee with one convener and six members was formed in each circle.
