Teenager Hacked to Death by Fiance's Relatives
Malda October 27, 2012: A 16 years old boy was brutally killed over an affair. He was allegedly killed with a sharp weapon by the father and brothers of his girl friend. Victim’s uncle has lodged an FIR against three although none was arrested so far.
It is learnt that Sarif Khan (16) of village Mahadipur under English Bazaar police station, had an affair with the daughter of one Bhago Sk of the village. The girl was a student of Class X of a local school. A few days back the family of the girl came to know about the affair. Her brothers Saul and Sajid had even threatened the boy over this issue. However, the affair still continued and the couple used to meet in private.
Santajul Khan, uncle of Sarif, informed that on Friday night Sarif had accompanied his own sister to the latter’s in law house in the neighbouring village. It was known that Sarif was seen in local playground to watch a cricket match. But he never returned home since then. Early this morning his body was found in a mango orchard. He had a deep wound caused by the sharp weapon. Police rescued his body and sent for post mortem.
Santajul and Atadur Khan, relatives of Sarif said, “After being threatened by the brothers of the girl and convinced by us, Sarif had had no relationship with the girl. Even he had left the village to work as migrated labourer in Delhi. Only yesterday he came home on the occasion of Eid. But we are sure that Bhago and his sons had killed him.”
An officer of English Bazaar Police Station Jahar Jyoti Roy said, “We have got the complaint but none could be arrested yet as they were absconding.”
