Mamata Made Frankenstein of GJMM: Surjya Kanta Mishra

MALDA, 25 JAN: The Gorkha Jana Mukti Morcha (GJMM) would prove to be a Frankenstein of Mamata Banerjee which would eventually devour her, said the leader of opposition of the state Surjya Kanta Mishra during his trip to Malda today.

“We suggested her to be cautious on three things during the tripartite agreement. When we were in the government, we candidly said that the demand of Gorkhaland has to be denounced first. We were also resolute that except three blocks Darjeeling, Karseong and Kalimpong no area from Terai, Dooars and Plains would be included to the local territorial administrations. But we strongly honoured the feelings of emotions of the hill by extending more independence and power to their self governance,” Mr Mishra said.

Proposed Gorkhaland Map
“But tyo our utter dismay we saw that the Chief Minister virtually acknowledged the demand of Gorkhaland and even made provisions in law about probable inclusions of areas from Terai, Dooars and Plains. On the contrary she did not consider the issue of more power to the local govt with importance and there laid that biggest blunder,” the leader of opposition commented.

Ridiculing the CM, Mr Mishra said, “She claimed that the hill was smiling but now she understands in reality whether the hill was smiling or it was laughing or chuckling. Even his party candidates who could not contest in GTA election can better illustrate the variety of smile of the hill to her.”
