Mausam Noor Outshines Poll Contenders in Assets

Malda, 8 April, 2014: Malda is going to witness grand electoral battle of multi millionaires in its parliamentary constituency (PA). However the Congress candidates AH Khan Choudhury and Mausam Noor have already outshone others in terms of their assets.

Noor (34), an LLB from Calcutta University and alumni of La Martiniere is contesting from Malda north PA on a Congress ticket. She is the sitting MP here. She has an annual income of Rs 6,29407 while her husband Mirza Kayesh Begg’s annual income is Rs 6,96833. Noor owns an movable asset of Rs 1803815 including a car and 80 gram of gold. Begg’s immovable asset is Rs Rs 5,74407 including 22 gram gold and a car. In the affidavit filed by Noor, her immovable asset has  value of Rs 74 lakh. Mrs Noor has a car loan of Rs 28,534 against her name.

Malda north CPI-M candidate Khagen Murmu (59) is a graduate from Magadh University in Bihar. Murmu’s annual income as per affidavit is Rs 203383. He has a movable asset of Rs 1391877 including 9 gram gold and immovable asset of Rs 770000. Murmu’s first wife Manju Kisku’s annual income is Rs 203997 and she owns a tractor. She has in her custody 2.5 bhori gold and possesses an immovable asset of Rs 195973. Murmu’s second wife Aruna Mardi has 2.5 bhori gold and movable asset of Rs 945031. She however has a bank loan of Rs 300000.

Trinamool candidate in Malda north Soumitra Ray (54), a singer turned politician, graduated from St Xavier’s College, Kolkata in 1981. Ray has an annual income of Rs 965000. He has a movable asset of Rs 3429158 including a second hand car and only 10 gram of gold. His immovable assets value Rs 1898000. Ray’s wife Marisa’s movable assets’ value is Rs 189310. She holds 50 gram gold.

Subhash Goswami (69), the BJP contender from this constituency passed Schhol Final in 1964. He has movable asset of Rs 692406 and his wife Ratna has movable asset of Rs 464506 including 4 bhori gold and 10 bhori silver. A retired primary teacher Goswami’s immovable asset values Rs 10 lakh only.
