High Madrassah examination commences : First day goes smooth

Malda, 9 February, 2015: High Madrasah, Alim and Fazil examinations commenced today in the district along with the other parts of the state. No untoward incident was reported on the first day as learnt from the officials of West Bengal Board of Madrasah Education (WBBME).

North Bengal regional officer of WBBME Asif Equebal informed that 9,910 c andidates took High Madrasah examinations from Malda. 941 candidates appeared for Alim and 652 examinees appeared for Fazil examinations this year from the district. Nearly two third of the examines are girls this year as learnt from WBBME sources. 

“Today was the examination on the first language. The examination would continue till 23 February. The examination was conducted peacefully,” Mr Equebal said. An examinee with visual impairment and student of Kamditola high madrasah Sabera Khatun took her High Madrasah examination at Achintola high madrasah today with the aid of a writer and prior approval of WBBME, Mr Equebal informed.

He added that WBBME president Fazle Rabbi held a meeting with the district administrations on 2 February regarding the smooth conduction of the examination.

Meanwhile, one Golam Habib (21) of Jadupur village in Kaliachak police station was killed in a road accident today after he dropped his brother, a high madrasah examinee Safiqul Islam at the centre.

When Habib was returning home, he was hit by a speeding two wheeler at Shahabazbur turning in Kaliachak police station and died on spot with a serious head injury.

Irked by the death of the youth locals detained the two-wheeler driver and two pillions and severely roughed them up. Later, police rushed to the spot and rescued them and recovered the body too.
