Man stabbed for protesting against sex-racket
Malda, 11 February, 2015: Protesting against sex racket at Khaskol village of Milki gram panchayat in English Bazaar police station was proved to be too dear for one Sukku Sheikh (50) who was thrashed last night and rushed to Malda Medical College Hospital (MMCH) wherefrom he was referred to Kolkata after his condition deteriorated.
His son Raju Sheikh lodged a written police complaint against four persons for allegedly thrashing his father and running a sex-racket at locality. Accused have however fled after the incident and police have been searching them.
It has been alleged that Raju Sheikh that Monzur Sheikh of Khaskol village used to run a sex racket at his locality which his father protested against a couple of months back. “After the matter was publicized the sex racket stopped working initially. But recently my father once again discovered some men and women at Monzur Sheikh’s house at a compromising state. As my father protested again, Monzur and three others chased my father with sharp weapons and stabbed him arbitrarily,” he alleged.

The son of the injured youth further claimed that Monzur Sheikh and his henchmen Mithu Sheikh, Kader Sheikh and Kashem Sheikh were polluting the environment at the village by running sex racket and providing shelter to gamblers and drunkards. He lodged police complaint against all those four persons.
SP Prasun Banerjee said, “A complaint of attempting to kill a resident of Khaskol village was received in English Bazaar police station. Police have started a probe and the accused are being searched.”
